Location: Jackson, Mississippi
The Deposit Operations Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting with the Bank’s daily proof processing, data entry (reject correction and transaction balancing), and reconciliation (GL balancing) process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the accurate review and processing of the capture of daily proof work and providing support to Bank associates with resolving errors and coordinating adjustments and corrections; the oversight of processing various files and cash letters in the core banking system and processing them to the Federal Reserve; supporting the Bank with any Regulation E disputes, ACH affidavits, and check returns; performing centralized insufficient item processing and monitoring user limits of authority approvals for deposit account overdraft lending compliance; performing client-requested statement or item research requests as needed; assisting with court-ordered subpoena research requests as directed; performing dormant account review and related maintenance; assisting and providing back-up for some of the Wire/ACH daily duties (i.e., dual control wire validation, processing incoming wires, ACH returns & NOCs, ACH disputes and decedent account handling); processing any collection items, including international items or Treasury Reclamations as needed; reviewing daily reports; coordinating with third-party vendors and escalating production issues as needed to other internal support teams; and other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of job-related experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and telephone skills, enabling the individual to represent oneself in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Ability to handle multiple and varied duties in an organized and efficient manner.
- Ability to work independently and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
- Ability to research and correct outages.
- High attention to detail.
- Knowledge and familiarity of the services and products offered by the bank.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, including a confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to use basic office equipment.
- 10-key data entry speed at a minimum of 8,000 kph preferred.
